Tarazet, a science fiction role-playing setting for the D20 system.
Tarazet is a sector of space which was once part of a galaxy spanning human empire. It is an RPG setting with a lot of variety. There are monstrous, almost Cthulhu aliens that ruled the galaxy even before the founding of the ancient former human empire. And it is an RPG that has spaceships, lots of spaceships. Humanity’s numbers have dropped since the days of empire and much of the technology of those times was self-repairing, so there is more powerful sci-fi equipment available than there are humans left to use it. And this extends beyond spaceships to technology from every area of human life. There are planet choking megalopolises that no longer have a single human inhabitant. Although they may have other inhabitants, even infestations of other inhabitants.
These pages describe the rules for using Tarazet with the D20 rules system, but Tarazet can be played with any RPG rules system. It works very well with the free rules for Traveller from Mongoose for example. D20 is also available free, and it is a very popular set of role-playing game rules. Much other material has been written for it, including a very elegant system for designing large mobile items of technology, or as the rules call it “mecha”. These supplementary RPG rules are also available free and are perfect for designing the spaceships, surface crawlers and giant robots of the Tarazet setting.
Tarazet is a place, lost in the galactic clouds, a place of adventure.
